Abstract
3D acoustical imaging for both NDT and Echography purposes needs of 2D arra y transducers. Among them, the sectorial design gives good performances mai ntaining enough resolution. A piezoelectric transducer array having a piezo composite as substrate is designed, simulated. and tested following time an d frequency measurement techniques. Simulations were performed with a multi layer scheme based on the KLM circuit. Time response, inter-element cross-c oupling and acoustic aperture are measured. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A.
