Abstract
Reduction of aromatic and heteroaromatic nitro compounds to the correspondi ng amino compounds was achieved by indium/ammonium chloride induced reactio n in aqueous ethanol. This method was extended for the preparation of large quantities of 6-aminochrysene in excellent yield.
