Abstract
It is shown that the total volume magnetic susceptibility of a substan ce can be measured in principle with the help of electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). For this purpose, the conventional EPR technique can be used along with a known reference compound with a very narrow reso nant absorption line. The accuracy of absolute susceptibility measurem ents is comparable to that of classical methods. (C) 1997 American Ins titute of Physics.
