Abstract
The X-ray crystal structure of nylsulfonyl-2-(n-butylsulfonyl)-3,3-dim ethylbutane was determined. The unit-cell parameters are as follows: a = 11.647(4), b = 11.943(4), and c = 13.718(4) Angstrom; alpha = 86.01 (2)degrees, beta = 84.71(2)degrees, and gamma = 77.09(2)degrees; V = 1 850(2) Angstrom(3); d(calc) = 1.244 g/cm(3); Z = 4; and sp. gr. <P(1)o ver bar>. The eclipsed molecular conformation is responsible for the r egio- and stereospecific elimination of the RSO2-group.
