Preliminary results of a BeppoSAX observation program of luminous X-ray sou
rces in globular clusters suggest a common physical scenario: the superposi
tion of a Comptonized spectrum, originating in a boundary layer between the
accretion disk and the neutron star, and a thermal component, probably rel
eased by the accretion disc as multi-temperature blackbody. In this scenari
o, the spectra are steeper in brighter sources, due to the strong correlati
on between thermal cutoff energy and luminosity.
