We discuss constraints from recent data on the multiple components of Galac
tic positron emission. The two dominant components, corresponding roughly t
o the stellar bulge and disk, must be explained with a consistent descripti
on of the processes occurring in the two populations. In addition to core-c
ollapse supernova radioactivity in the disk, thermonuclear(Type Is) superno
vae are a likely source in both components, especially considering recent w
ork on their optical light curves.
