Abstract
The structure of Xanthomonas campestris pv. vitians O-specific polysacchari de of the lipopolysaccharide fraction, extracted from the aqueous phase, wa s defined, on the basis of chemical and spectroscopical methods, as constit uted by the following repeating unit: [--> 3)-alpha-L-Rhap-(1-->](n)3)-beta-L-Rhap-(1 --> where n is more frequently equal to 2, but it also assumes values equal to 1 and to 3.
