The replacement of every other Se atom in layered MoSe2 by two Sb atoms led to the formation of MoSb2Se; within its lattice, Sb atoms interconnect the MoSbSe sheets to form a truly three-dimensional structure, thereby enlargi ng the octahedral cavities.
