Abstract
The stretched exponential (SE) and the power law (PL), fitting equally well the disulfide recombination of a de-novo peptide, differ markedly in estim ation of thiyl radical population. This leads to quite different lifetime d istribution functions encompassing about 20% (ES) or 70% (PL) of the radica ls. For inhomogeneous recombination kinetics, the interpretation of the PL in terms of superposition of first-order decays is compared with that in te rms of superposition of second-order decays.
