Abstract
This article reviews the injuries most commonly seen in young dancers. Spec ial emphasis is on the biomechanics that (1) precipitate these injuries and (2) need to be addressed in preventing and rehabilitating them. Most dance injuries are microtraumatic in nature, mainly resulting from errors in tec hnique or repetitive application of techniques to bodies that are anatomica lly ill prepared to perform them.
