Abstract
This paper deals with the analysis of the behaviour and the state of stress developing in a silo shell under real asymmetric pressure distributions co ncerning both staring and discharge. The results obtained suggest that the design of such structures may not neglect the asymmetric features of the re al pressures developed by the stored material.
