4 FAINT OPTICALLY-SELECTED QUASARS WITH REDSHIFTS GREATER-THAN 4

We report the discovery of four faint quasars with redshifts between 4 .1 and 4.6. Three of the quasars were found in a multicolor survey; th e other was first detected in a grism survey. The quasars have apparen t magnitudes that range from 20.8<r<22.0; the quasars are among the le ast luminous known at these redshifts. One of the quasars, PC 0027 + 0 521, is located only 318'' from the z = 4.21 quasar PC 0027 + 0525. (C ) 1997 American Astronomical Society.
