Abstract
The new neutron deficient isotope U-217 was produced in the bombardment of the W-182 target with Ar-40 ions and identified using a recoil-a-ct correla tion method. The alpha-decay energy and the half-life of 217U were determin ed to be 8005 +/- 20 keV and 15.6(-5.7)(+21.3) ms, respectively.
