Abstract
Many devices combining single mode fibre and low power electro-optical effe cts can be used efficiently in the telecommunication domain. We propose a t echnology of liquid crystal confinement between two single mode fibres whic h are embedded in ferrules. We choose the liquid crystal and the configurat ion (planar or homeotropic) depending on the required function.
