Abstract
We present experimental data on the phase behaviour of a mixture possessing
SmCA* phase, which show that the balance between ferroelectric and antifer
roelectric states is very mobile and can be shifted in favour of ferroelect
ric phase by weak external forces due to aligning surfaces.
