Abstract
We report the physical properties of a novel room-temperature AFLC mixture composed of chiral and racemic components. The electrooptic properties and ionic contamination of the mixture, in test cells prepared with different a lignment layers, are also investigated. The implications of the results on the origins of ionic contamination in the mixture itself is discussed.
