Herein we present a case of a 57-year-old woman with squamous cell carcinom
a of the gallbladder, with an advanced, large tumor infiltrating the liver
and duodenum, but curatively resected by hepatopancreatoduodenectomy. She h
as been doing well without any sign of recurrence more than 5 years after o
perating. Hepatopancreatoduodenectomy is an adequate procedure for en bloc
resection of advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the gallbladder because it
often grows expensively. No residual tumor cells owing to hepatopancreatod
uodenectomy shall fortunately result in a good prognosis.
