Abstract
This article concentrates on providing information concerning the current s tatus of using the Internet in scholarly research in the field of education on the eve of the millennium. The first section provides a brief summary o f the concepts of learning theory. This section presents a cursory overview of why educational activities, such as teaching and scholarly research, us ing Internet resources need to be first grounded in the concepts of learnin g theory. The second section briefly explains the current status of conduct ing scholarly research in the field of education using the Internet and the Web. The third section highlights several categories of educational Intern et resources. These categories include commercial databases, government and educational association Web sources, and specialty Web pages. The fourth s ection provides a brief speculation concerning the possible future of Inter net and Web information in future educational research and scholarly activi ties.
