Abstract
Based on typical 12-layer models of the electrical conductivity in the ocea nic lithosphere and asthenosphere, the paper demonstrates the applicability of the thin-sheet modeling of the electric field induced by the global mot ion of ocean water. Comparison between the results derived from layered sec tion and thin sheet models revealed their equivalence.
