Abstract
We have measured the shear modulus and its temperature dependence of Pd-40, Ni40P20 using an EMAT technique. Measurements were made of the temperature dependence at constant heating rate of the infinite frequency shear modulus G. Values of the shear softening parameter gamma are estimated and compare d with those obtainable from frequency dependent sheer moduli, specific hea t and viscosity measurements. There is overall agreement with the Interstit ialcy Theory of Condensed Matter States. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Sci ence S.A.
