Abstract
The preparation and catalytic properties of mixed Fe-Mo-W catalyst toward m ethanol oxidation are investigated. Mossbauer spectroscopy, X-ray diffracti on and chemical studies revealed the formation of two types of solid soluti ons with compositions Fe-2(MoxW1-xO4)(3) and (MoxW1-x)O-3. The solid soluti ons formed are characterized by high activity and selectivity upon methanol oxidation and are of interest in view of their practical application. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A.
