Abstract
The transport and magnetic properties of perovskite-type epitaxial films of (La1-xSnx)(y)MnO3-delta have been studied. The results of the resistivity, magnetization, and Curie temperature as a function of the tin concentratio n show that the tin in the films has the same effect as a divalent ion. The spin-glass state has been found in the (La1-xSnx)(y)MnO3-delta films. The magnetic inhomogeneity and the strain in the films are responsible for this spin-glass behavior in the films. Additionally, the dependence of the spin -glass freezing temperature T-sg on the tin concentration also implies that the tin doping has a divalent effect. (C) 2000 American Institute of Physi cs.
