Kg. Dlusskii, ON THE EVOLUTION OF SOIL-FORMING PROCESSES IN THE MIDDLE PLEISTOCENE IN THE BASIN OF THE OKA RIVER, Eurasian soil science, 30(6), 1997, pp. 579-586
Detailed paleopedological studies of buried Pleistocene soils of the D
nieper-Don stratigraphical interval were conducted in the basin of the
Oka River with the help of basic profiles. Among three paleosols, onl
y the middle one proved to be a mature interglacial soil (the second K
amenskaya). It formed under the influence of intensive humus formation
and lessivage. The upper and lower paleosols were referred to immatur
e soils, and pedogenesis was combined in them with the accumulation of
sediments.
