Abstract
The vibrational distribution of H-2(+)(X (2)Sigma(g)(+);nu) after charge tr ansfer in C2+(2s2p; P-3) + H-2 collisions is obtained ab initio using the s emiclassical eikonal method and the sudden approximation. Results are in go od agreement with experiment (Leputsch ed al 1997 J. Phys. B: At. Mol. Opt. Phys. 30 5009).
