Abstract
Currently companies of all sizes are starting to do e-business via the Inte rnet, In addition, residential customers are increasingly using the Web for job purposes, on-line shopping and entertainment. Therefore, network opera tors and Internet service providers are transforming the Internet into a br oadband platform for high-speed applications. For ensuring that IP-based ne tworks can meet new requirements like quality of service or real-time capab ility, directory-enabled networks, policy-based networks and service-level agreements are the primary technical concepts that can be applied.
