Field propagation in a cylindrical, transversely balanced corrugated wavegu
ide which is filled with chiral medium is considered. The eigenfields insid
e this kind of waveguide are circularly polarized. In this study, the spher
ically symmetric modes are considered. For small chirality parameter values
, there exists weak coupling between the eigenfields, which results in a ch
ange in polarization of the propagating field. This effect makes it possibl
e to produce mode transformers and phase shifters for circular waveguides.
