Abstract
A brief review of theoretical and experimental studies devoted to the multiphoton (more than three photons) processes in crystals is present ed. Particular attention is given to a new line of investigation--the generation of high-order optical harmonics on nonmetallic crystalline films. Possible experimental manifestations of this phenomenon are dis cussed.
