Abstract
Right ventricular failure can be the result of acute respiratory distress s yndrome (ARDS). A patient with eclampsia and sepsis with Staphylococcus aur eus developed life-threatening right ventricular failure as a result of ARD S. She finally stabilized after treatment with inhaled nitric oxide (NO). T he pathophysiology of right ventricular failure in ARDS is described. (C) 2 000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
