COST-75 final report - A summary

During the period 1993 to 1997 the European Commission COST (Cooperation in Science and Technology) - 75 Project carried out a review and analysis of advanced weather radar systems. The work reviewed operational networks depl oyed in Europe, but also examined the potential of research radars such as polarisation diversity systems. The study was wide ranging and involved sci entists and engineers from 19 countries. A large number of recommendations have been recorded in the Final Report of the Project to be published in 20 00/01 including those relevant to future network development in Europe.
