The potential capability of dual polarimetric radar, which could measure mi
crophysics characteristics of precipitation is well known. It is gradually
understood in China that dual polarimetric radar will become a main command
tool instead of the conventional weather radar for weather modification. T
he paper will describe an updated radar command system of weather modificat
ion operation for ingesting systematic data and discuss some practical tech
nical problems such as auto-calibration, ground processing, and radar infor
mation distribution. This will help for future application of dual polarime
