Abstract
The heights of melting layer bottom and top (i.e., rain height and melting thickness) have been derived from the vertical profiles of radar parameters of S-band radar measurements in Singapore. Results have also been compared with the 0 degrees C height measured from the radiosonde data. Aspects of height associated with peak radar reflectivity, linear depolarisation ratio and Doppler velocity in the melting layer are discussed. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
