Abstract
Dry coating technologies offer the steel industry a wide range of new possi bilities. In this context, CRM develops a new process for evaporation under vacuum : the JVD (Jet Vapor Deposition). JVD is a PVD system featured by heating one or several evaporation crucible s by induction, mixing metallic vapours in a temperature-controlled chamber and ejecting the vapors through a single ejector positioned close to the s trip. JVD combines the flexibility of inductive vacuum technology with a hi gh productivity. These characteristics make JVD compatible with industrial requirements, namely productivity and efficiency.
