Feline leukemia virus and feline immunodeficiency virus are frequently asso
ciated with multisystemic disease in cats. Clinical disease involving the e
ye and periorbital tissues can present in a variety of forms in the cat inf
ected with feline leukemia virus or feline immunodeficiency virus. Tissue d
amage may occur because of direct viral effects, or the virus may predispos
e the ocular tissues to secondary infections or neoplastic transformation d
ue to immunomodulation. The ocular manifestations of both viral infections
are reviewed.
