The construction of an organic microcavity with an organic light-emitting t
hin film sandwiched between a porous silicon Bragg reflector and a silver f
ilm is demonstrated. The peak widths of the PL spectra are greatly reduced
from 83 nm to 4 nm as compared with those measured from non-cavity structur
es. The off-resonant optical modes are highly depressed. As is always obser
ved from an optical microcavity, the peak intensity is enhanced, and the peak
position shows a blue shift with increasing exit angles.
