Amorphous carbon nitride powders are success; fully produced by ammonotherm
al synthetic routes. The existence of the chemical bonding of C drop N in t
he powders is confirmed by Raman and infrared spectra. Raman spectra of var
ious samples show that the G-band frequency shifts to higher energies, and
the intensity ratio I-D/I-G decreases as the N content increases. The Knoop
hardness of the sintering sample is up to 1200 kgf/mm(2). The hardness of
the sample increases with increasing of the N content.
