The effects of IAA, ABA, GA(3), and kinetin on hydrolytic activity of the p
roton pumps (HC-ATPase EC 3. 6. 1. 3, H+-pyrophosphatase - 3. 6. 1. 1) of t
onoplasts isolated from storage red beet roots (Beta vulgaris L, cv. Bordo)
in iondisbalanced conditions were studied. Equilibrium levels of ion and h
ormonal regulation of hydrolitic activity of the proton pumps were investig
ated. It was concluded that hormonal regulation depended on ion composition
. H+-pyrophosphatase was more sensitive to ionoc and hormonae regulation, t
han h(+)-ATPase. Magnesium ions are essential for maximal appearance of hor
monae stimulation.
