Chiral replacement criterion for characterizing holotopic and hemitopic relationships

A chiral replacement criterion has been proposed to characterize stereochem ical equivalence. This criterion is effective to determine holotopic and he mitopic relationships, which are sub-relationships of a homotopic relations hip. The criterion has been shown to be complementary to the membership cri terion based on the sphericity concept.
