Abstract
The structure of the diterpene alkaloid arcutin, which is isolated from Aco nitum arcuatum Maxim. (Ranunculaceae), is solved by x-ray methods. Arcutin represents a new type of diterpene alkaloids containing a C5-C20 bond inste ad of the traditional C10-C20 bond in the carbon backbone.
