In the numerical calculation of electromagnetic transient response,the G-S
transform method is used frequently for inverse Laplace transform. It is a
pure real number operation and just needs calculations for a small number o
f values of Laplace transform variable s(12 values for one sample time). So
it is a rather rapid algorithm. However, when we need to calculate many sa
mple times,the computation quantity of this algorithm is still too large. I
n this paper,a new algorithm for G-S transform is established based on the
delay theorem of Laplace transform. The new algorithm may reduce computatio
n quantity in orders and there for increase markedly the calculation speed
of the transient electromagnetic response with dense samples.
