A transparent condition for the linear Schrodinger equation is constructed
from a microlocal approximation of the Dirichlet-Neumann operator for a rel
evant subset of frequencies called the quasi-hyperbolic zone. A quasi-analy
tic characterization of the asymptotic expansion of the total symbol of thi
s pseudodifferential operator in a subclass of inhomogeneous symbols with p
