Do. Kim et Rh. Park, Classification of 3D objects with curved surfaces based on cross-entropy between shape histograms, ELECTR LETT, 36(19), 2000, pp. 1614-1615
A cross-entropy method for the classification of 3D objects with curved sur
faces is proposed. Tn the proposed approach. small. cross-entropy between t
he shape histograms of two objects indicates that the two objects are simil
ar, where the shape histogram is defined as the distribution of the shape i
ndices computed at pixels on the object. Experiments with real rang images
show that the cross-entropy method can he used to classify 3D objects with
curved surfaces.
