Abstract
A waveguide-based Y-branch all-optical switch has been fabricated using pho tochromic dye doped polymer. The reversible refractive index change in the photochromic dye using ultraviolet (356 nm) and visible light (514 nm) allo ws for switching of the device. The switch exhibits a low crosstalk of abou t -14 dB at the wavelength of 1.55 mu m using ultraviolet and visible light .
