Abstract
Spectral slicing is proposed to support broadcast services on WDM passive o ptical networks. The receiver performance in high-speed WDMI systems using spectrally sliced spontaneous emission sources is studied. The effects of s pontaneous; spontaneous emission kat noise on both pin and APD receivers ar e investigated experimentally.
