Atmospheric study and behaviour of new components, the ethyltoluenes, usedas additives for reformulated gasolines: Their participation in the tropospheric ozone formation.

The ortho-, meta- and para-ethyltoluenes are new additives in reformulated gasoline. In this work. the concentrations of these aromatic hydrocarbons w ere at first measured in leaded and unleaded gasolines. and secondly in the atmosphere of Grenoble during a selected period, from 15/03/99 to 20/03/99 . Then some reactivity experiments were performed in a simulated atmospheric chamber. Ozone production and aerosol formation dire to the presence of the se three ethyltoluene isomers was observed.
