Abstract
A new type of scintillation-light-transmission ZnS(Ag)/NE102A phoswich dete ctor has been developed, in which scintillation light emitted from the phos wich is transmitted through an optical fiber to a photomultiplier tube. By adjusting wavelength of the scintillation light to transmittance region of the optical fiber, the phoswich detector was capable of successfully perfor ming simultaneous counting of alpha- and beta (including gamma)-rays. In ad dition, the detector has been applied to a dip-type inline monitor, which d irectly contacts with actinide solution. The detector will be available esp ecially in a narrow and/or isolated space such as glove box and hot cell.
