Sc. Tripathi et Ds. Chauhan, Evaluation of fertilizer and seed rate in wheat (Triticum aestivum) under different tillage conditions after transplanted rice (Oryza sativa), I J AGR SCI, 70(9), 2000, pp. 574-576
Two experiments were conducted during winter seasons of 1993-94 and 1994-95
at Karnal to optimize the fertilizer and seed requirements under different
tillage conditions in wheat(Triticum aestivum L. emend. Fiori and Paol.) s
own after transplanted rice (Oryza sativa L.). From mean of 2 years, zero t
illage recorded maximum wheat yield (4.70 tonnes/ha in first and 4.86 tonne
s/ha in second experiment) compared with the yield obtained under conventio
nal tillage (4.12 tonnes/ ha in first and 4.59 tonnes/ha in second experime
nt). Application of fertilizers @ 150:75:50 (N :P2O5 :K2O kg/ha) gave maxim
um grain yield (4.62 tonnes/ha), which was significantly higher in both the
years, compared with the yield (3.98 tonnes/ha) obtained by recommended le
vel of N : P2O5:K2O (120:60:40). Application of 150 kg seed ha recorded max
imum seed yield (4.95 tonnes/ha) over the recommended rate of 125 kg/ha (4.
75 tonnes/ha) and was found to be an appropriate seed rate for wheat grown
after transplanted rice.
