Vi. Shcherbakov et al., OXIDATION OF GAMMA-STANNYL SULFIDES BY MONOCHLORAMINE CB AND HYDROGEN-PEROXIDE, Russian chemical bulletin, 46(2), 1997, pp. 358-361
The first gamma-trimethylstannyl sulfimide, Me3Sn(CH2)(3)S(=NSO2Ar)C5H
11-n, was synthesized by oxidative imination of Me3Sn(CH2)(3)SC5H11-n
with ArSO2N(Na)Cl (Ar = C6H4Cl-4). Oxidation of gamma-trimethylstannyl
sulfimide by an alkaline solution of H2O2 gave gamma-trimethylstannyl
sulfoximide, Me3Sn(CH2)(3)S(O)(=NSO2Ar)C5H11-n, and gamma-trimethylst
annyl sulfone, Me3Sn(CH2)(3)SO2C5H11-n, the latter compound resulting
from hydrolysis of the arylsulfimide group. Oxidation of stannyl sulfi
de by hydrogen peroxide yielded gamma-trimethylstannyl sulfoxide, Me3S
n(CH2)(3)S(O)C5H11-n (under mild conditions) or gamma-trimethylstannyl
sulfone (under more severe conditions).
