Abstract
A model describing the Gunn effect is discussed. Numerical results sho w that the model exhibits the expected characteristics of the self-sus tained oscillations. The model-locking characteristics under an extern ally applied microwave field are analyzed. As the frequency of the app lied microwave field is changed, a devil's staircase of frequency-lock ed oscillations develops.
