CONTRIBUTIONS TOWARDS A MONOGRAPH OF PHOMA (COELOMYCETES) .3. SECTIONPLENODOMUS - TAXA OFTEN WITH A LEPTOSPHAERIA TELEOMORPH

Twenty-six species of Phoma, characterized by the ability to produce s cleroplectenchymatous pycnidia (and often also pseudothecia) are docum ented and described. An addendum deals with five atypical species, but which on account of literature data may be related. The following new taxa are proposed: Phoma acuta subsp. errabunda (Desm.) comb. nov. (t eleomorph Leptosphaeria doliolum subsp. errabunda subsp. nov.), Phoma acuta subsp. acuta f. sp. phlogis (Roum.) comb. nov., Phoma congesta s pec. nov. and Phoma vasinfecta spec. nov. Detailed keys and indices on host-fungus and fungus-host relations are provided and short comments on the ecology and distribution of the taxa are given.
