Abstract
The consistency between dynamic models for large eddy simulations and their underlying self-similarity assumption is discussed. The interpre tation of the resolved field is shown to be fully determined by the ch oice of the test-filter. Consequences for comparison to direct numeric al simulations and experimental results are presented. (C) 1997 Americ an Institute of Physics.
